One of the most favourite things for me, to do, in various environments, is observing people. Especially when they behave in a coordinated yet uncoordinated manner, in public settings. One such scenario is when a plane lands and the crew finally say that you can switch on your mobile phones. Oh, the frenzy and excitement in the eyes of human beings, both young and old, as they rummage inside their pockets, looking for their beloved hand held devices – pure unadulterated bliss!

Today I noticed something interesting though. Teens open whatsapp, or Instagram. Forty-fifty year olds opened whatsapp, followed by Instagram and there were some octogenarians who straight away opened YouTube and started scrolling through their feed – Religious videos, viral tik toks and what not. It was quite the collection.

I want to write more and share more about what I feel about this whole epidemic of digital devices and how they’re affecting the older generations in many different ways than the millennials or GenZ kids.

But that’s for another time. Let the abruptness devour us.

Cheers
